Graduate Studies - Graduate Research Competition 

The Graduate Research Competition will be held on April 3, 2018 from 1:00-4:00 PM in Ballroom & meeting rooms in the Kansas Union. This is a campus-wide event that provides graduate students the opportunity to present their research to faculty judges and peers from across the University, improving their communication skills, refining their concepts, and networking with students and faculty from other departments. Students can apply to give a poster presentation or an oral presentation. Prizes will be awarded by Graduate Studies and the KU Chapter of Sigma Xi, an international, multidisciplinary research society. Graduate Engineering Association (GEA) Annual Rock Chalk Research Competition

On Thursday, April 19, 2018, the Graduate Engineering Association (GEA) will hold their Annual Research Competition. This event gives undergraduate and graduate engineering students the opportunity to present their research in a poster or presentation competition. Students apply online for the GEA Research Competition. Applications are due on Friday, March 30th. Students may participate in both the poster and/or presentation competition and cash prizes are awarded to top competitors by GEA. School of Engineering Rock Chalk Research Symposium & Graduate Open House

The School of Engineering is looking for current undergraduate and graduate researchers to present posters at our upcoming Research Symposium April 19, 2018. The event is geared towards students interested in graduate study or research opportunities and connects them to researchers in labs that are seeking additional students for current or upcoming projects (from any STEM field). It is open to any student who would like the opportunity to present or participate. The event is geared towards students and faculty in labs that are seeking additional student researchers for current or upcoming projects (from any STEM field), but it is open to any student who would like the opportunity to present. The school will also host a Graduate Programs Open House event that same day and undergraduate students may participate in both. Interested students should contact Lynn Villafuerte with questions. 

Undergraduate Research Symposium

On April 28, 2018, the annual Undergraduate Research Symposium celebrates the diversity of undergraduate research and creative activities on campus. Whether you are a freshman interested in exploring those opportunities or a senior looking for a venue to share the results of your scholarship, you'll find events of interest to you at the Symposium. All KU undergraduate students are invited to attend, whether you are presenting your projects or are simply wanting to learn more about undergraduate research. Parents, friends, research mentors, and anyone else who is interested in undergraduate research are also invited to attend the Symposium. The deadline to participate is April 2, 2018. Contact with questions or visit the Center for Undergraduate Research to register.
