Research Opportunities

The University of Kansas is a major research university with a long and successful record of research collaboration promoted through independent and NSF multidisciplinary research centers that focus on common themes. KU is a Carnegie Doctoral/Research Extensive University and has been a member of the Association of American Universities since 1909.  Each department and program in the KU School of Engineering has access to modern, fully equipped facilities and laboratories.

The School of Engineering has many Research Opportunities in which graduate students can be involved.

Three engineering graduate students were among those selected to participate in the 2015 Capitol Graduate Research Summit at the Kansas Statehouse in the Topeka. This event is designed to provide an opportunity for graduate students from KU, KU Medical Center and other universities in Kansas to showcase the latest research under way in the state to legislators in Topeka. Here’s a look at their research projects.
