Engineering Learning Community
Since 2003, the School of Engineering has been proud to offer the Engineering Learning Community (ELC) program for freshmen engineering and computing students. The program allows freshmen the opportunity to build the study habits and peer support that can be vital to their success. Living among other engineering students is a great way to not only meet other students in the same program but also to form those essential study groups for first year courses.
The ELC is housed on the zero, first, and second floors of Self Hall.
Being a part of the ELC is easy and free*!
* There is no additional cost beyond your normal Housing & Dining costs to live in the ELC.
How do you become a part of the ELC?
- Sign your Housing Contract early.
This will ensure you are one of the first students to be able to choose your room during the room selection process. Spaces available in the ELC are limited and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis during the regular room selection process.
- Choose an ELC room on the zero, first, or second floor of Self Hall during the regular room selection process.
Admitted Engineering Students will have exclusive access to choose from ELC designated rooms on the zero, first, or second floor of Self Hall, in addition to all other rooms that are available. At this point students can choose to pull-in a roommate.
It’s just that easy.
