The Gender Divide in STEM

Join us for an evening presentation with KU Mechanical Engineering Alumna Una Nowling!

KU Mechanical Engineering alumna Una Nowling will speak at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 14, in Spahr Classroom in Eaton Hall. She is an “out and proud” transgender woman who spent 19 years presenting as a man in the STEM field. The last 5 years, she has lived and worked as a woman. Her talk will focus on the real difference between the way men and women are treated in the STEM field. She will also present statistics and ideas to eliminate these inequities.
